Questions
Before you write to Product Engineering.
What does Onyx Product Engineering do?
Software product strategy, design, engineering, and platform delivery. Onyx Product Engineering is the Group's product-building engine. It combines research, design, engineering, quality, and platform operations to turn a strong opportunity into a product that can endure. The work covers product strategy, experience design, software engineering, and platform operations.
What is Onyx Foundry?
It is Operating capability · the engine behind the Group. A disciplined product-delivery practice for turning validated opportunities into secure, maintainable software. Foundry is the name of that delivery practice. It is not a separate software product you can switch on, and it has no launch date.
Who is the work for?
The work is for three groups: Onyx divisions, enterprise partners, and venture teams. Divisions need a path from an opportunity to software. Enterprise partners need software that can scale with the operation and be kept. Venture teams need shared product discipline.
What problems does the division address?
The division addresses three problems: ideas without a clear product path, software that cannot scale with the operation, and delivery teams without shared product discipline. The path fails when nobody has decided the product. The software fails when the next workload has nowhere to go. The team fails when design, quality, and operations are reinvented each time.
How should the example scenarios be read?
They use generic archetypes, such as a division with an opportunity, an enterprise team, or a venture team. Each card states a problem, an approach, and an outcome of the work. They are illustrations of the domain. They are not client stories, and they do not report dates or headcount.
